Ever wanted to try your hand at watercolour painting?  Or perhaps you are an experienced painter who would like to pick up some new tips by painting some of the more unusual subjects available at Burghley?

Sandra Peck is resident artist and tutor at Barnsdale Gardens and her work can be seen in the gallery there.  She has been teaching for 20 years and runs regular workshops in a number of different locations, including some especially for the Royal Horticultural Society.

These special days at burghley always informal and friendly, with plenty of opportunity to watch and ask questions.  Sandra will show you her own wet-into-wet watercolour techniques and you will have ample time to put these into practice, with help and encouragement from her throughout the day.

The classes are held in the education rooms at the Brewhouse centre close to the main house.  Just bring along your usual watercolour paper to try out new techniques.  If required, paper and a palette of student colours can be provided for the day at a cost of £5.

Classes cost £55 and run from 10.30am to 4pm and include morning and afternoon refreshments.  At lunchtime please feel free to visit our Orangery Restaurant or Garden Cafe, or alternatively you could bring a packed lunch and enjoy a picnic in the extensive and attractive grounds.
