Anthony Beech Furniture Conservation was established at Burghley House to offer a complete service to keepers of furniture collections, from the conservation and restoration of individual pieces to the ongoing conservation of complete collections including on-site work and inspection.

Specialist work undertaken includes the conservation and restoration of giltwood furniture, Boulle decoration, European Japanned finishes, marquetry, carving, polishing, and interior woodwork plus conservation of historic upholstery.

All conservation and restoration work is tailored to the clients requirements and is guided by the importance of maintaining a harmony with the interior and collection to which each piece belongs and to preserve original finishes, gilding and upholstery wherever possible.
