BURGHLEY

Elizabeth the Golden Age
The Da Vinci Code
Pride and Prejudice
Alfred Molina as Bishop Aringarosa on the Hell Staircase

The Da Vinci Code crew in the North Court

The film crew were on site for five weeks and scaffolding was erected along the whole south elevation of the House. A bedroom was created, perched twenty feet up on a scaffold platform above the Kennel Yard. The park was also used for the main unit base in the area with over thirty trailers and three hundred crew!

A little piece of Rome in rural England. Burghley played numerous different locations in the film, including all the interior and many of the exterior scenes portraying Castile Gandolfo. Additional scenes included the garages at Chateau Villette which saw Teabing and Langdon hotly pursued by the French police and the Saunières countryside retreat where the young Sophie witnessed the Priory of Scion ritual ceremony. In a spectacular night-time scene, the Stable Courtyard was transformed into a fourteenth century French village with a flashback to the medieval witch hunts.
