Education Operations Assistant
Education Operations Assistant
Part time - Fixed Term - 9-12 months
About the role
We are looking for an organised, capable and enthusiastic Education Operations Assistant to join our Education team at Burghley House.
This is a varied role at the heart of our education team. You will be the person helping to make sure that visits run smoothly from the first enquiry from a school through to the day the pupils arrive - coordinating bookings, communicating with schools, keeping records and paperwork up to date, and making sure that everything is prepared and set up ready for the visit.
You will also be involved in working on our education school holiday offering, working with internal teams to plan and prepare for the activities being run.
You will need to be a good administrator, a confident communicator and someone who enjoys getting things done. Just as importantly, you will need to be able to think for yourself, spot what needs doing and keep track of multiple tasks and deadlines.
The role is part time and will need to be worked over 4/5 days. There will also need to be some flexibility to work occasional weekends.
What you will do
- Manage the administration surrounding school bookings, including correspondence, schedules, records and paperwork. Keep calendars and information on the website accurate and up to date. Respond to enquiries from schools in a friendly, professional and timely way.
- Coordinate arrangements with the wider Burghley team to ensure everyone knows what is happening and when.
- Assist with the practical set-up of education spaces before visits.
- Help coordinate the smooth running of visits on the day where required.
- Help identify potential problems or gaps in arrangements and take action to resolve them.
- Provide general administrative and operational support to the education team.
About you
We are looking for someone who is:
- Highly organised and able to manage several things at once without losing track of the detail.
- A good communicator, comfortable speaking and corresponding with schools.
- Practical and proactive - someone who notices what needs doing and gets on with it.
- A good problem solver, with the ability to think things through and use their judgement.
- Confident with IT, including everyday office software, and online systems.
- Reliable and conscientious, with a strong eye for detail.
- Interested in history, heritage and/or education, and excited by the opportunity to help schools make the most of their visits.
