Since 1982 the courtyards at Burghley have evolved to provide workshop and studio space to conservators and craftsmen whose skills and expertise were suited to the conservation and restoration of the house and its unique art collection.
This process has established the courtyards as perhaps the only location in the country where such a wide range of specialists can be found working along side one another to provide for the conservation and restoration requirements of historic buildings, art collections and interiors.
