FIRST BURGHLEY PARK EVENT OF THE YEAR!
Now that we all have the chance to enjoy spectacular days out with family and friends, there is no better place to be than Burghley this Bank Holiday Weekend as the amazing Living Heritage Game & Country Fair is on!
The Fair has had to change slightly this year due to Covid-19 restrictions in place, but Living Heritage Events have managed to retain lots of the attractions that have made the event so popular over recent years.
Jousting makes a return to the main arenas offering a break of six years since they last appeared. They have an action packed 4 horse Jousting display by Steam Horse, one of the Countryside’s top Equestrian entertainers.
Another new arena attraction are the Steel City Display Team, with Security Dogs in action. Away from the main arena they will have their own small training area for you to view and maybe have a go!
Moving around the rest of the showground, there is lots of Country Sports & Pursuits to watch and enjoy, some you can have a go at, such as Clay shooting and the large variety of Dog events in the Dog Zone.
The Craft Area plays host to a selection of talented Craftsmen and Women, many of whom will be demonstrating their skills. There will be special timber demonstrations that includes a steam-powered racksaw bench producing planks suitable for table tops and benches which can be purchased at the event.
Food always plays a major part at the Living Heritage Game & Country Fair. A great selection of Street Food will be on offer to tempt your taste buds, whilst our three chefs will be entertaining you in the Cookery Theatre.
Take a walk over Burghley’s magnificent Lion Bridge. Once over the other side, you will find the Angling Village with lots of demonstrations on Capability Brown's Lake including Casting and Fly-Tying techniques, lots to keep you entertained. Further round there’s the Clay Shoot, offering some serious shooting with sporting layouts and Starshot, all whilst also offering a 'Have A Go' for beginners.
We advise booking tickets on line to guarantee entry on the day of your choosing. You will notice that the Living Heritage Game & Country Fair at Burghley has been to 3 days, ensuring there is plenty of room encouraging social distancing. Bring your masks for when you need them and bring your sanitiser for when you wish to use it.
What is there not to like and look forward to - look forward to seeing you there.
