A step-by-step demonstration to show how to paint this lovely building set in the grounds of Burghley using loose watercolour pen and wash. Try using some gum Arabic for an easy way to capture the beautiful reflection in the water. We will be painting from photographs and sketches and based in the Education room as usual.
We begin the day with a visit to the House to look at this beautiful little bed, that was used by Princess Victoria when she visited as a child. Then watch a demonstration to show you how you can capture the scene in loose watercolour and have a go yourself.
A step-by-step demonstration to show how to paint the stately Bottle-neck Lodges at the entrance to Burghley Park in loose watercolour and pen, with time for you to have a go yourself. We will be painting from photographs and sketches and based in the Education Room as usual.
We begin the day with a walk through the House to look at the Chapel. Then enjoy a demonstration to show how you can paint a stained-glass window and achieve beautiful effects with drippy paint and cling film. There will be time for you to have a go yourself. A chance to try out lots of watercolour techniques.
Visit the majestic Great Hall, for some wonderful inspiration, there are so many lovely things to paint in here. You may either choose your own subject and work from sketches or follow the demonstrations. We are hoping to stay in the Hall all day to paint. It is a lovely experience.
